Yorktown

Kicking off this blog with Kew gardens was followed shortly after by a weekend away to York for their christmas markets. Again i was using the 35mm 1.4 lens on the canon 5D Mk iii body but this time i was not allowed or had time to set up shots with the tripod. I attempted to use a mono pod but it was just too busy so it was straight forward street photography with a lot of low light or night situations.

We had a great few days exploring the city, staying in a very nice AirB&B just outside the city walls. I mainly used the 35mm lens but did also use the 135mm which was used when in the markets for much tighter shots. The majority though we with the 35mm 1.4 which is becoming the standard lens and has overtaken the zoom 24-70mm due to its higher apperture and tack sharp images from corner to corner.
