Someone

I have been busy being a best man etc, so have not had much time to sit down and blog but before I start with this though, just a quick callout to anyone willing to help me with some sparkler portraits over the next few weeks , it would be greatly appreciated. I will make you look amazing I promise and it could end up looking like these below for you to keep:

Ok so I will start properly then with my friends wedding, of which I was a best man (1 of 3). I was not on wedding photography duty, but still couldn't resist taking one camera to the day. It was great to see how another wedding photographer worked (of which there were 2), and sit back and enjoy the day without having to worry about anything.

Venue Sheene Mill - Panoramic

Outdoors Ceremony

The weather held out thankfully, which was very important for this particular venue as it had clearly been selected for its outside space and ceremony area. I watched on as the Photographers did their thing and captured the big day. I took a few (see below) but hardly got a look in on the bride who was being filmed and photographed from all angles (at one point a drone came out), so I left well alone.

A rare shot of the Groom resting from smiling continually.

I stopped myself from bringing my camera with me for the ceremony and much of the evening as I was busy with other parts of the day. I kept the 35mm prime on the camera mainly when I did have it out.

After the Wedding, I travelled to Cambridge for a spot of punting...

I do tend to find myself trying hard to spot unique moments when doing such touristy things like this, literally everyone has their camera phone out and are snapping happily away, while I will actually take only a few shots. I found this very much the case here, with restrictions to my movement and position on the boat as it travelled along I found myself taking less shots of the scenery and more of those that are enjoying it along with me.

I enjoyed the punting on a hot september day, but I think I will leave the photography to the IPhone crowd next time.

Finally, some images taken with my trusty 100mm Macro lens taken last week. Great to see these little guys all over the place at the moment with the onset of autumn closing in. Mushrooms and fungus are amazing to photograph, particularly with a macro lens like the 100mm. I tried to use a tripod for these, but I could not get close enough to the ground, so went hand held and used my macro flash ringto keep the images clear and as crisp as possible.

Photostacking Image

I used ETTL mode for the flash, and tried to keep as much in focus as possible. I had another go at photo stacking in order to get the stem of the mushroom, as well as the top in focus but again, as with the newt from my previous blog post 'day by day', this was difficult without the use of the tripod so again the image was not perfect, but I am improving with this technique.
