Tiny Moves
A trip up to an old favorite that is Hackpen Hill and Barbury Castle offered the rare opportunity to fly the drone and get some interesting shots of the castle from above. It’s hardly visible from the ground until you get close to it so it was great to use the drone to capture the scale of the stone age fort that sits on top of the ridgeway path.
The relentless rain continued on when down in Cornwall at the end of April, but this did not deter me getting some photos in while I was there. Despite the rain and over cast, grey conditions I had the opportunity to photograph several of the local coastal residents which even bought about one of my favourite images of the year so far. The black and white image of a curlew on the brow of a hill.
I was up in London to see friends at the end of April on a bit of a flying visit, so didn’t have a lot of time to take the camera out, but when I did it was just to show how depressing the place is these days when I do come up. Homeless people seem to be far more numerous in the centre, with some in doorways or begging. I can’t express enough how much I am glad to have left the rat race that is London and it’s faceless suburbs back in 2017, and have never regretting that decision thankfully.
I am off to Croatia next month for work which should hopefully yield some good photo opportunities. I am taking both the X-T5 and the X100V so it will be interesting to see which one I gravitate towards most over the 9 days. It’s also a chance to see the actual sun with has not seemed to have shown itself for more than a few hours since 2023.
*side note. For some reason I did not post this until June while doing my next post so a couple of months late! Whoops
